Chic Gems Hosts Online Trunk Show to Benefit My Hope Chest
February 10, 2010: Sarah Radford of Chic Gems, Etc. will be hosting a continuous online trunk show to benefit My Hope Chest, www.myhopechest.org, beginning today.
Sarah is working with My Hope Chest to raise funding and awareness for those who have survived breast cancer, but cannot afford reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy.
How to shop for the cause: Shoppers can choose from any of the jewelry on Chic Gems site, www.ChicGemsEtc.com, and enter the code MHC while checking out to donate 20% of their purchase to My Hope Chest. As a special thank you, shoppers will also receive 10% off of their total purchase as well. The online trunk show will be continuous as Sarah is an active volunteer with My Hope Chest.
About the My Hope Chest: My Hope Chest was founded by Alisa Savoretti in the fall of 2003. A breast cancer survivor and Las Vegas Showgirl, she was 38 and without insurance at the time of her diagnosis. Billing herself as the “Lop-sided Showgirl” she gained media attention to the cause through a story on the local CBS affiliate when she returned to the Las Vegas stage as a Dancer only 5 months after finishing her chemotherapy- this time however minus one breast. Having to wait for over 2 years, she at last acquired her own reconstruction through the group insurance policy at her job (which cannot deny pre-existing conditions) but realized the huge gap that existed for women suffering like herself.
